Mokattam Mountain is a wonderful place in Southeastern Cairo, where one can see the beautiful scenery and can feel the true beauty of the nature. This mountain was considered as the only real mountain by the ancient Egyptians with five hundred feet height. The historical aspect of the mountain was an important source of limestone in a part of the hill area. The mountain is home to around 40000 people and most of them are Zabbaleens. Zabbaleens refers to the people who are involved in garbage collection jobs. The main center for attraction is the Mokattam Corniche which is a perfect place to walk and one can view the entire architecture of Cairo.
