This last thing to do in Agra is for all the sweet lovers. Agra is the birthplace of the iconic sweetmeat Petha. Historically Petha existed even before the Mughal era, however it was during the reign of Emperor Jahangir when the chief consort and Empress Nur Jahan introduced Petha into the royal kitchen.

Petha is a translucent soft candy made out of Ashgourd or Winter melon. Flavors are added in form of kesar, pista, melon etc. Angoori Petha is the second most common choice of flavor after the plain ivory Petha.

Hari Parwat, Bhisain, Pracheen, Baidyanath are a few stores spread across Agra that are renowned for their extremely delicious and high quality Petha.

Cost: 190 INR to 300 INR per kg
