Explore the Go Gajah Elephant Cave

Go Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is noted as one of the most spectacular archaeological sites of Ubud. It is located to the south of Bedulu village which is famous region that is well known for its historical sites. The visitors need to go down a flight of stairs, where one can discover a relic-filled courtyard and the main 11th century ‘cave’. In the cave one can see the rock-wall carvings and a meditational site. Whereas out on the perimeter there is a Hindu temple and an impressive bathing pool with fountains that were excavated back in 1954. The visitors can also see the beautiful rice fields and small streams that lead to the Petanu River at the Southern end of the complex.

Visiting Hours: 08:00 to 16:00 hours daily

How to reach: How to get there: One has to go east from Ubud approximately 3km towards Jalan Raya Goa Gajah.
