The National Museum or Muzium Negara is a pure symbol of the Malay culture. This museum’s gallery accommodates exhibits depicting the history and rich heritage of Malaysia. The museum is divided into four galleries namely Early History, Malay Kingdoms, The Colonial Era and The Malaysia Today.
Early History- This gallery depicts the formation of the Earth from the beginning. Visitors can also witness the life of early human beings and the evolution of the stone stools. The main attraction of this gallery is the Silver Man which is the oldest human skeleton of South East Asia.

Malay Kingdoms- This gallery displays the rising and the transformation of the Malay civilization. It includes the formation of the kingdoms of Malaysia, governments and many more things revolving around the civilization of Malaysia The focal point of this gallery is the exhibits of Government of Malacca that portrays the Malay-Islamic civilization of the past.
The Colonial Era- The gallery of the Colonial Era displays the advent of foreign powers like Portuguese that led to the end of the golden era of Malay civilization. The gallery also houses exhibits that showcase the impact of these powers on the social, economic and political life of the Malaysia.
Malaysia today- The exhibits of this gallery provide an account of the national movements of the leaders against the British intervention and the achievement of Independence. The displays of achievements of Malaysia from independence to till date are also a part of this gallery.
The museum also organizes audio tours in different languages that include English, Malay, Mandarin, French, Japanese and many more.
