Admire the King Fahd's Fountain

Constructed in the 19th century, King Fahd Fountain also called as the Jeddah Fountain is the tallest fountain in the world. It is located on the coast of Jeddah and to the west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This fountain has been donated to the city by King Fahd, hence the fountain is named after the King. There are forceful water jets, where water comes out to a maximum height of about 853 feet and 1,024 feet above the Red Sea level. This fountain is the tallest in the world even at the lower figure.

This fountain is so tall that it is visible throughout the entire vicinity of Jeddah city. The airborne mass of the water can reach up to 18 short tons that is about 16,000 kg. The water which is used in the fountain is taken from the Red Sea. The fountain is illuminated by more than 500 spotlights in the light. The fountain was designed after the fountain in Lake Geneva. The skyline of Jeddah is dominated by the fountain and is the wealthiest city in the Middle East. The fountain was also listed as the highest water fountain in the world in the Guinness World Records.
