When in Riyadh, how can someone miss a chance to visit the amazing King Fahd International Stadium which is also nicknamed Pearl of Stadiums, in Arabic or simply The Pearl. Presently it serves as the venue mostly for football matches and it also has athletics facilities. The stadium has one of the largest stadium roofs in the world and it was a venue for matches of none another then the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1989 including the final match.

Its enormous roofs shades over 67,000 seats and the stadium covers an area of 47,000 square feet. It comprises of 24 columns that are arranged in a circular shape of a 247-metre diameter. The key highlight is the huge umbrella that helps to provide shade and comfort in the hot desert climate. There is also a royal balcony that was constructed upon for his majesty King Fahd for observing the sport, as a personal touch to the stadium.
