The National Palace Museum is an antique museum in Shilin and it is one of the national museums of the Republic of China. It houses a permanent collection of more than 696,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artefacts and artworks which makes it one of the largest in the world. The collection depicts over 10,000 years of Chinese history from the Neolithic age to the late Qing Dynasty. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's ancient emperors which makes it a must visit in the city of Taipei. The museum houses several treasured items that are the pride of their collection and famous worldwide. They include antiquities, painting & calligraphy, Rare books and documents.
