The Grand Palace is one of the most sacred sites of Thailand. It was built in 1782. For 150 years it was the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government.It covers an area of 218,400 sq. meters. The visitors are welcomed to enjoy the creativity and craftsmanship of the Grand Palace. This amazing place is the spiritual heart of Thai Kingdom.The Outer Court near the entrance include government departments and the Inner court is the place where the King’s royal consorts as well as daughters lived. The palace has several other attractive buildings. Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) is situated in the same premises. Another temple, Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand which is situated in the underground area of the Grand Palace. The temple showcases the Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly admired Buddha image mainly carved with a single block of jade.Apart from this there are also Boromabiman Hall and Amarinda Hall. The hall of justice was the original residence of King Rama I. The Grand Palace has a dress code before stepping into the temple premises.

How to Reach:
By Sky Train: From the Saphin Taksin Station which is on the Silom Line, take the Exit no. 2 and then take Chao Phraya River’s express’ boat to the Chang Pier River.
By Bus: Bus nos. 1, 3, 6, 9, 15, 43, 44 etc.
Tickets: Ticket cost is 400 baht which includes entry to Vimanmek Palace and Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall.
Timings: Daily 08:30 am – 3:30 pm.
