The traditional collection of Thailand is housed in the Jim Thompson Museum. It is one of the popular museums of Bangkok situated near the Siam Square shopping area. This is enlisted as one of the top attractions of Thailand founded by Jim Thompson, a businessman from the United States who served in the U. S. Armed forces after II World War. After retirement he settled in Thailand and explored his talents in re–establishing the Thai silk industry. He received the Royal award of ‘The Order of the White Elephant’. Jim Thompson first commenced the company ‘Jim Thompson Thai Silk’ during the era from (1950 – 1960). The house is positioned on a half acre of land besides the Mahanak Canal. He completed the house in 1959 under the great collection of 6 original traditional teak structures. He brought the carpenters from Ayuttaya to complete the house. This house contains the collection of antiques and artifacts and is showcased in the exhibition. Apart from the Thai silk industry there is also a retail shop on the museum grounds for the purpose of purchasing the goods.

How to Reach:
By Bus: Take the buses no. 15, 47, 73 and 204.
By BTS: Go by Sky Train to National Stadium Station which takes about 5 minutes.

Tickets: Admission Tickets for Adult is 100 Baht, Children is 50 Baht.

Timings: Open daily from 9.00 am – 5: 00 pm.
