The Hagia Sophia is one of the most visited attractions of Istanbul with the most unique history. Hagia Sophia was once a church, later a mosque and now transformed into a museum. This museum is an astonishing architectural wonder and a significant monument which makes it a must visit in Istanbul. The exterior of this attraction may not attract you, but one should not judge a book by its cover as the museum mesmerizes its visitors by the breathtaking domes and ancient mosaics inside the museum. All the mosaics displayed inside the museum feature human figures. The landmark also accommodates two public fountains, one near the exit and the other in the outer yard of Hagia Sophia. The museum showcases the conversion of Hagia Sophia from a church into a mosque after the Turkish invasion.
