The Taksim Square is the most popular tourist and leisure district of Istanbul as it depicts the modern Istanbul and located in the heart of the city. This place accommodates a vibrant shopping street, namely İstiklal Caddesi alongside of the pedestrian and the world's second-oldest subway line which makes it quite an important place in Istanbul. The square is loaded with numerous restaurants, pubs, cafes and famous fast food outlets like McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Subway and many more. Not only this the street also houses the enormous luxury hotels like the Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental and The Marmara Hotel.
This square also serves as a the most desired venue for all the celebrations, events or gatherings as it remains crowded all year around. The list of Taksim Square’s attractions also includes the Atatürk Cultural Center (Atatürk Kültür Merkezi), a multi-purpose cultural center & an opera house, NTV television Studio, Taksim Gezi Park, Taksim Military Barracks, Taksim Stadium and The Monument of the Republic.
