The South Australian Maritime Museum is house to all the collections, artifacts of the human history pertaining to the oceans and seas. The South Australian Maritime Museum was built to preserve and make people aware of the importance of its historic legend. It has a collection of 25 historic vessels of various sizes. The collection ranges across many material types from ship models, navigation instruments, souvenirs, sea chests, paintings and photographs. The Port Adelaide Nautical Museum is believed to be the oldest maritime collection in Australia.

The basement consists of exhibits showing how the early settlers sailed out. Interactive exhibition of sun, sea and surf antics. The Museum’s main gallery consists of the Bond stores in Lipson Street. In short distance you will find the lighthouse built in 1869. Exhibits of Port Adelaide, Adelaide plains and the mount lofty ranges also come in view. Just at some distance from the Light house, you will find the museum’s floating vessels, the steam Tug Yelta, our last working steam tug, and the historic police launch, Archie Badenoch.
