Situated in the heart of the city, the Victoria Square or Tardanyangga is the hub place for all the cultural events in the city. Victoria square derived its name after Queen Victoria. The statue in the middle of the square commemorates her. Due to its location, the Victoria square is easily accessible to the general public. It is the host ground for all the cultural events. The square has shady areas with landscaped gardens for events and lawn areas to be enjoyed throughout the year. It is an excellent place for shopping antiques, clothing etc. the square also houses restaurants, bars and café. The Victoria square is surrounded by old and new civic buildings.
