The Museo de la Ciudad or the Museum of the city shows Quito's history in sequential order from 10,000 BC to today. Numerous exhibits, which include dioramas and life-size replicas, focus on the variations in daily life through the eras. The first rooms show the area's primitive occupants and Indian societies that preceded the Incas. The other exhibitions are systematized by century.
