Taiwan is an island country situated off the coast of Okinawa, Japan and Philippines. It lies on the Western edge of the Pacific Ocean. The shape of the country is like a leaf which is narrow at the ends. This island nation is popular for tall mountains and beautiful forests. The nation attracts large number of tourists every year. The travelers have an experience of their life-time exploring the beauty and glorious history of the island nation. There are amazing sites to view in Taiwan. Taiwan has many large cities and towns such as Taipei, New Taipei, Hsinchu, Hualien, Keelung, Taichung, etc. The tourists get all the facilities like transport, hotels etc in all the cities of Taiwan. The tourists have so much to see in this country from natural beauty to the country's cultural inheritance. There are many rare species of the world in the country. I would try my best to make a nice itinerary of Taiwan so that its leads to a memorable trip of yours.

Take a flight from Bangkok, Thailand to Hualien, Taiwan. The time taken to reach in flight is 3 hours 25 minutes.


Taiwan’s climate is characterized by extremely different climatic conditions in different seasons. All the seasons are quite different from each other. Taiwan is hot and humid in summers from June to September. The temperature falls down largely in winters. The best time to visit Taiwan is October-December. 

Day 1: Hualien

You can enjoy the scenic beauty and fresh air of Hualien. Then you can see the popular Taroko Gorge. The other tourist attractions to be seen in Hualien are as follows:-
1. The Abode of Still Thoughts, a Buddhist Temple
2. Yenpin Prefectural Temple
3. Hualien County Stone Sculpture Museum
4. Pine Garden
5. Cultural Creative Industrial Park
6. Chihsingtan Beach
Hualien Ocean Park has ferries wheel and cable car. You can visit Taitung by renting a car from Hualien. Taitung is situated on the delta of the Beinan River. Tiatung is known for its mountains and coastal areas. Taitung celebrates several festivals and is rich in cultural diversity. The place is popular for cycling. The famous cycling routes in Taitung are in Chishang, Longtian Village, etc. Taitung is also known as the garden of Taiwan.

Day 2: Kaohsiung

The distance between Taitung and Kaohsiung is of around three hours and the same can be covered by boarding a train. Kaohsiung is the second largest city of Taiwan. The cultural places to visit in Kaohsiung are TianHou Temple, British consulate, Fo-kwang Shan (largest Buddhist monastery), Shoushan (mountain), Central Park, etc. You can visit Lotus Lake and take a walk. The Lake has temples on all its sides and also onto the lake. You can also take a walk around Central Park and visit Urban Spotlight café. The travelers even hike the Shoushan Mountain and see the panoramic view of Kaohsiung. 

Day 3: Taichung

Taichung is the third largest city of Taiwan. Some cultural places to visit in Taichung are as follows:-
4. Taichung Municipal Cultural  Center
5. Wenying Halls
6. Taichung City Hall
Taichung is a city of temples. The names of few of the magnificent temples of Taichung are stated below:-
1. LeCheng Temple
2. WanChun Temple
3. Confucius Temple
4. ChengHuang Temple
5. Li Ancestral Shrine
These temples depict the history of Taiwan. Taichung is a place rich in historical sites such as Wanhe Temple, Chang-Liao Family Shrine, Chishan Gate, Taichung city hall, Lake Pavilion in Taichung Park, etc. You can reach Hsinchu from Taichung in approximately one and a half hour by bus or train. 

Day 4: Hsinchu

Hsinchu also known as the windy city owing to its climate is the oldest city in northern Taiwan. The famous tourist attractions include temples, museums, parks, galleries, etc. The names of the various temples are Guan Di Temple, City God Temple, etc. Then you can go to the Craft Glass Museum, the Municipal Image Museum, Hsinchu City Military Dependent’s Villages Museum, etc. Hsinchu zoo is the oldest zoo in Taiwan and you will surely have a great time. The views of the Green Grass Lake are breathe-taking as you can see eye pleasing sites. Hsinchu garden offers hiking opportunities and you can look at the numerous species of flora. The cherry on the cake is Eighteen Peaks Mountains from where you can have the entire view of the city.

Day 5 - 6: Taipei

Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. The place is quite cheap. You can cover the distance from Hsinchu to Taipei of 90 km by travelling by road in around an hour. Taipei is a very charming city and if you are taking a walk around the city, you will surely explore the hidden charm of the capital city. It is the best of all the Taiwan cities as it is full of museums, galleries, temples, parks, hot springs, exciting activities, etc. The city offers delicious food and you cannot afford to miss the mouth watering street food. The city is extremely laded with rich culture, art and architecture. There is so much to enjoy in Taipei from historical places to parks to the happening night life of the city.
The famous temples of Taipei are Longshan Temple, Confucius Temple, Baoan Temple, Xingtian Temple, etc. Zhongshan Hall is a cultural hub and hosts cultural activities and events. The various parks of Taipei are Taipei Botanical Garden, Zhishan Garden, Dean Forest Park, 228 Peace Park, Dajia Riverside Park, Zhongshan Fine Arts Park, etc. The activity of hiking is very popular in Taipei. The hiking trails in Taipei are Elephant Mountain Hiking Trail, Yangmingshan National Park, etc. There are even theme parks to add fun element to the journey like Taipei Water Park, Children’s Recreation Center, Taipei Zoo, etc. The city hosts several festivals throughout the year like the Dragon Boat Festival, Lantern Festival, Golden Horse Chinese Language Film festival, Taipei international travel fair etc.

Day 7: Departure

The happy and memorable journey will now be coming at an end. The journey would have been full of visits to Taiwan temples, museums, parks, etc. Then you can take a flight from Taipei, Taiwan to Bangkok, Thailand.
