Mount Kenya rises to about 5199 m and as such is the tallest mountain in Kenya. The mountain has been recognized as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site and a wildlife sanctuary. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro. There are several vegetation bands from the base to the summit. The lower slopes are covered by different types of forest.

You can spend a whole day exploring and even go for an overnight game viewing from the verandas of Mountain Lodge. Here you could rent the accommodation in any of the Mountain Lodge.

The Samburu National Reserve is located on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The Samburu National Reserve is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves. There is a wide variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu National Reserve. Several large game species common to Kenya's northern plains can be found in abundance here, including the following dry-country fauna: gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, oryx and reticulated giraffe. All three big cats, lion, cheetah and leopard, can also be found here, as well as elephants, buffalo and hippos.

Other mammals frequently seen in the park include olive baboon, warthogs, Grant's gazelle, Kirk's dik-dik, impala, and waterbuck. Rhinos are no longer present in the park due to heavy poaching. There are over 350 species of bird. These include grey-headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, Marabou stork, tawny eagle, Verreaux's eagle, bateleur, vulturine guineafowl, yellow-necked spurfowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, red-billed hornbill, yellow-billed hornbill, and various vultures including the palm-nut vulture. The Ewaso Ng'iro River contains large numbers of Nile crocodile.

You can go for an afternoon drive then return by the evening to your lodge and you can also spend the next day exploring the unique beauty of the Samburu Game Reserve.

Day 4

On the fourth day you can head back to Mount Kenya to enjoy some facilities of Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club.

The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club offers luxury accomodation in Nanyuki, Kenya. A magnificent view to behold, the prestigious main structure reflects the 1950’s colonial architectural design with a luxury country club feel, complemented with independent quaint cottages, including William Holden’s original cottage. With magnificent views of majestic Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club Resort's 120 luxuriously appointed hotel rooms, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, offer a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. It’s no wonder this Nanyuki resort emerged a winner in the 2013 Travellers Choice Awards and that Travel amp Leisure Magazine often positions it in the 'World's Top 50' List. Originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder, William Holden, the Club's illustrious former members have included Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby.

Day 5

In the morning you can drive via Nyahururu Falls down to Lake Baringo with picnic lunches. Later drive to the beautiful Lake Baringo.

Lake Baringo

(Source: aftab.)
Lake Baringo is one of the water bodies that line up on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the Earth's scar that crosses the East of Africa north to south. After the huge Turkana, Baringo is the second northernmost and largest in Kenya, with 130 km². Baringo and Naivasha stand up as the only freshwater shallows in the Kenyan Rift.

The large fresh water body is a shelter for more than 400 bird species that give the area its main attractive. The lake is -or used to be- a quiet and solitary oasis embedded in the abrupt and arid land that foresees the northern deserts. Until the end of the 19th century, Baringo and Bogoria were only visited by caravans of slaves; the remains of Fort Baringo, dating back to those years, are still visible. You can also take an evening bird walk.

Day 6

On the sixth day you can head to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s two Premium Parks, and is a birdlover’s paradise. It surrounds Lake Nakuru, located in the Central Rift Conservation Area in the Southern Rift Valley region of Kenya. Originally protected as a bird sanctuary, this park hosts over 400 bird species, including 5 globally threatened species, and is an important stop on the African-Eurasian Migratory Flyway. This park was also the first national Rhino sanctuary and hosts one of the world’s highest concentrations of the Black Rhinoceros.

Here you can enjoy afternoon game drive which will give you the opportunity to view various wildlife both predatory and plains game, not forgetting the abundance of birdlife. This park also serves as home to both the white and black rhino.

Day 7 to 9

The itinerary of these three days should include heading to the amazing Maasai Mara Game Reserve and spending atleast three days here.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

(Source: CorradoMos @***)
It is a spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebra, and gazelles from the Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed early June to August. The Mara has got also thousands of species of bird life and plant life.

In three days you can spend the whole time enjoying the untamed beauty of the Mara. Picnic lunch can be organized in advance so that you can enjoy unhurried game viewing. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands, their numbers increasing during the annual migration from Serengeti. Lion, leopard and cheetah follow close behind, while crocodile and hippo congregate in the Mara and Talek rivers.

On the ninth day you can head back to Nairobi by the evening to catch your return flight.

Day 10

This is the last day of your stay in Kenya and you got your flight in the morning. Make sure you pack all the belonging carefully and reach airport at least three hours prior to your flight timings.

The return flight from Nairobi to Mumbai is also a nonstop flight. The flight no. 210 of Kenya Airways will take off at 07:50 hours from Nairobi and will land at 16:20 hours in Mumbai.

I hope the destinations mentioned, according to your interest will lead to a memorable trip. I wish you return with the most exciting experience and memories of your life.
